The most valuable nature destination in the Järvenpää city area is the Lemmenlaakso (“love valley”) nature reserve along the Keravanjoki river, established in 1991. It covers an area of ​​94 hectares.

The Lemmenlaakso grove is a beautiful place, especially in spring, where there are numerous rare plants and birds. The flying squirrel, which is one of the EU directive species, also thrives in Lemmenlaakso.
