Krapi
During your visit to Krapi, you have the option to indulge in plant-based culinary delights both at Krapihovi and the summer restaurant, Mankeli. At Krapihovi, the banquet table is thoughtfully curated to align with various harvest seasons, placing emphasis on locally sourced ingredients and the exquisite offerings from small-scale farms.
To commence your meal, we suggest relishing the invigorating “Lake Tuusula” drink. Notably, with every purchase of this beverage, 1 euro will be contributed to the preservation of Lake Tuusula’s water quality.

Lammaskallio, Tuusula
The ethos of ecological sustainability appears to be deeply ingrained within the very essence of the farm and its proprietors, who uphold a lifestyle centered around reverence and conservation of the past. The present-day main building, a construction from the late 1800s, along with a barn of nearly equivalent age, continue to serve their functions.
Throughout the 20th century, the farm experienced periods of housing both meat and dairy cattle. However, under the guidance of the new owner, the tradition of rearing sheep was reintroduced. Indigenous local breeds, namely the Finnsheep and Gray Finnsheep, are nurtured on these grounds. During the summer months, these sheep graze, contributing to vital landscape upkeep across Järvenpää and Tuusula. Their domain extends from lakeside territories to avian-rich wetlands.
Make sure to pay a visit to the farm store during your stopover! It’s an opportunity to engage in shopping and support their initiatives.

In essence, their aim is to leave the world a slightly better place, at least through the efforts of their restaurant. Notably, this establishment has been recognized multiple times for its consistent provision of meals featuring the highest proportion of organic ingredients.
Lassila Farm, Tuusula
Trends may shift over time, yet amidst the passage of centuries, an enduring essence remains. The Lassila family has been tending to the cultivation of food since 1697. This locale has gained recognition for its commitment to cultivating ecologically friendly produce that not only preserves the environment but also enhances carbon sequestration in the soil and promotes biodiversity.
Within their farm shop, you can find an array of offerings including flour and groats, broad beans, peas, eggs, honey, rapeseed oil, and an assortment of delectable treats. Moreover, the farm also crafts handmade natural soaps. The farm store warmly welcomes the public to explore its offerings.
Maku Brewery
Since 2014, Maku Brewing has been crafting beers at Ristikivi in Tuusula. The brewery’s mindset towards beer production is rooted in the idea that beer can be created in an intelligent and resource-conscious manner. After use, the barley malt required for brewing is repurposed as feed for nearby farm animals. Packaging materials are selected from domestic and sustainable options. The beer itself is crafted from locally sourced barley malt, produced just 100 km away from our brewery. Furthermore, our brewery relies on eco-friendly forms of energy.
Numerous factors contribute to the carbon footprint of the brewery’s operations. As for the aspects that are currently beyond the brewery’s direct influence, they go above and beyond by double-compensating through reforestation and conservation programs for forests and wetlands. This approach has enabled Maku to achieve a carbon-negative beer production process.
The brewery’s store is open on Fridays from 2 PM to 6 PM and on Saturdays from 11 AM to 3 PM at Sarvivälkkeentie 12, Tuusula. And of course, you can also enjoy our beers at local restaurants!
